Sexy Tuesday?
Wowza. Check out this article in The New York Magazine online about a non-profit worker and her week of sex with her boyfriend and a threesome. Jeeze. The best part about her week is that at some point we sort of crossed paths. See the rained out Philharmonics concert she mentioned? I was at that concert. Yikes, I'll look at couples that I share subway rides with a bit more closely now. Iz here.

Vermont
Hello! I'm still here. Alive and well. I've spent the past two days on a relaxing vacation in Southern, Vermont with one of my best friends. We're staying at a bed and breakfast that's small and family owned in Londonderry.. more details on that to come when my internet is better. The goal of the trip was to do nothing. Of course that's been impossible given that we're in a wonderfully beautiful and serene area and can't resist a bit of sight seeing. Yesterday we took it easy and our main activity was dinner and of course, the 4 hour drive up. Today, we made the life changing (I kid) decision to check out a beautiful damn about a half hour South - so man made lake.... errr.. just enough nature for us. And went swimming. Beforehand, I did some extensive research on nude beaches/ swimming holes but couldn't find any near our bed and breakfast. Also, my partner in crime wasn't terribly keen on that idea. Boo. Next time.
Stay tuned for some nifty pictures. Oy.. I said nifty. By the way, dudes.. Vermont ain't cheap. Let me tell you. Last night dinner was slightly fancy and we agreed that today we would prefer a cheaper restaurant. Well.. the Vermonters know that toursists don't got no options for restaurants so after a failed internet search, we headed towards Weston, VT in hopes of a wider selection. As sophisticated tri-staters, we headed out at the late hour of 7pm, not realizing that most places stay open until 7:30. So there were only a small handful of restaurants. HA! Our only choice was to hit up a fancy joint with $30 entrees. Dang, what is this crap? Taking money from the rich and hungry New Yorkers. I may be a New Yorker but I ain't no rich tourist.
Okay, I had two glasses of wine.. Savignon Blanc + desert wine / Sherry. Clearly, I talk like a drunken Southerner while full from a fine meal and intoxicated on vino.
Good Night.
Ponderings
Last night I dreamed that I had a baby and was all like.. "are you sure it's mine because I don't remember having sex recently or giving birth." Yeah.. sad that even my subconscious is aware of this fact. I won't say who the father was although I'm sure he'll be very happy to read this if he still checks out W&P. Hint.. yoga pants. According to online dream research, it means I'll be entering an exciting new phase in my life or taking on a new project "hence the birth." That seems about right with how I feel but according to my dream, I'm having trouble accepting this and moving forward.
Today, I also remembered that according to an old horoscope, August is supposed to be a good month for me romantically. Woohoo! I've got 18 more days to go boys! So far nothing yet although I did spot someone from my past on the train this morning. ooh lala. Also saw some guy walking through Union Square who I've met a few times before through a friend. He was wearing a suit. Yum. I'm a bit more hopeful and I knew the whole "Molly doesn't care about guys" thing would only last a month or two. I really did feel that way for a brief time due to the stress of the move. It's good to get back to my happy, flirtatious, adventurous self. Finally, as I was walking home, I spotted a guy who looked vaguely like my ex-boyfriend - enough for my heart to skip a beat in surprise (or fear). I casually walked closer to get a better look and he noticed me. So then he started giving me the eye and checking me out. Felt like it was a craigslist missed connection as I walked away and he got on a bus. But then was slightly disturbed by the idea that someone who looked vaguely like my ex-boyfriend would be the one to stare me down and be my missed connection.
Moving on. Tomorrow is like Friday for me! I'm going to Vermont with my best friend for a long and relaxing weekend. Sooo excited! I plan on writing, reading and relaxing although I realize I somehow have to carry all my shizzizzle back to Schmersey. And I may see Jack the cat! Then definitely Mischief and Lola. Exciting!

Web Wandering Wednesdays

Today I'm starting a new weekly series where I highlight a newly discovered, interesting website. Check out the blog www.forme-foryou.com. Written by a graphic designer living in the city and features pretty pictures, shopping & cooking adventures and interesting links. Here's the picture that recently caught my attention..
New Apartment = Simplicity
One of the goals is to simplify my possessions in my new apartment. My roommate and I actually have a decent sized living room but my room is smaller than my old apartment. I've come to terms that it's unlikely I'll work on my beaded jewelry anytime soon. I haven't made a pair of earrings or a necklace since I've moved into the city so I returned it to my parents. I also returned old photo albums (after scanning some fun pictures) and I don't have a T.V. in my room. BUT I haven't been able to give up my red guitar. I have the unrealistic, but romantic hope that I'll find a man who's musically inclined. We'll come back one afternoon from a relaxing stroll in the park to my apartment. He'll play the guitar and I'll sing. It will be like "Once" but with a romance.

Note: It's amazing what someone's environment can reveal about a person. Can you find the objects that tell my story? Hint: France, Italy, colors, vino...
Delicate glass flowers and bowl made from paper wrappers (roommate's)
Pextax that used to be my mother's.
Energetic Mood
I'm in an energetic, good mood which means I naturally feel like dancing. My spinning teacher was ridiculous last night. He kept using his microphone battery pack to spank me so I'd go faster. Then at the end of the class, he insisted that I spank him back "harder! harder! harder" in front of a forty person class.
Yup. I officially have my mojo back. Whatever that means. I feel like I'm back to my old self. Errr.. picture below representing my old self? What do you do to regain your mojo?

Exercise Can Make You Fat?
Interesting article on Time.com about exercise and weight loss. It's fairly long so I'll sum it up. Studies have found that those who exercise more frequently tend to eat more from hunger and the belief that they can consume caloric foods after exercise. While muscle does burn more calories - 6 calories per pound vs. 2 that's hardly a blip on the caloric radar. So if you've succeeded in converting 10 pounds to muscle - a very lofty achievement, you'd only burn 60 more calories a day- less than my Dannon Light & Fit that I just ate.
I'm not advocating tossing out your gym membership. Studies have shown that regular exercise diminishes the risk of heart disease, diabetes and other maladies. For me, exercise has been a great mood regulator, keeping me sane and happy throughout the ups and downs of my life. I even noticed a significant downswing in my mood and overall well-being during the month that I was researching apartments and settling into my new apartment which meant that I was skipping the gym in the process. So overall advice, watch your calories when you exercise. A 5 mile run, intense spinning class or hardcore hour with your trainer is no excuse to hit the Shake Shack.

Weekend Update
I am not the not so proud owner of a new 3Gs iPhone. I say no so proud of course because my new purchase is the result of complete idiocy on my part. I've had a cell phone for nearly ten years and have never lost my phone until now. No, I lose the $400 serious piece of machinery that I am lost without.
I've been so focused on the shitty end to my night, that I forgot to focus on the awesomeness that was everything before 4:30 am. Let's review. My friend had her birthday party at Santos Party House. Still not sure if it's a gay bar or not but all's I can say is penis, penis, penis. Who said New Yorkers are jaded? We were all shocked, entertained and somewhat delighted to see perfectly chiseled (yet delicate) men in speedos seductively dancing on top the bar. The front stage contained a performance piece that was a sexually explicit play on cooking shows which included Amanda Lepore in the background. Need I go on? Okay, I will. Staying true to form, I danced on top of a bench which was on a higher staged area with the birthday girl. I can imagine we probably would have gained more attention elsewhere. While being pulled onto the bench, I managed to drop my drink, spilling half on my new dress, and the other half on the bench, making the whole experience thrilling yet deadly.
Three cheers for the birthday girl. She swong me into the only group of single, straight men in the whole joint. Added bonus, the five attractive men are MBA students at Columbia. I wish I had talked to the sexy Spaniard longer but they left from dancing exhaustion. Yeah, there was a whole lot of sweating going on.
After the birthday girl left, I convinced my boyz to hit up Solas, of course. Hadn't been there since I moved uptown and was slightly entertaining to see the same old faces. As I was getting water and about to leave, a guy worked the "what's your poison" line. Yeah, he went there. Not knowing anyone else in the bar, I spoke to him for a bit and we realized we live on the same block. What are the chances. Also learned that his mother is a diplomat. We agreed to share a cab uptown and get pizza. mmmm. Whole Wheat Pizza. He walked me home and I'll end my story there... because the rest of the night is too painful to recap in detail. But basically involved me taking a cab back to Solas, banging on their shuttered doors, taking a cab back home, and then psuedo crying myself to sleep.
On a brighter note - word on the street is that Oprah was at the Apple Store while I was buying my phone. Whole story would have been so much cooler if it involved Oprah making a surprise "Angel" visit to the store and paying for my new phone. But alas, I'll have to seriously conserve my dough and cook like a responsible adult. There was also an attractive (but completely crazy) man dressed in a red cape and red boxing shorts (sans briefs!) at the store with his two sons. holding an oversized barbie doll. So wish I could have gotten the full story on that.
What's that saying? The truth is better than fiction?
Truth, better than fiction.
Another Beautiful Saturday
And while we're on the subject of photos that make me happy, this picture was taken of me while I was in Mexico. My grandparents retired in San Miguel De Allende and we visited about every year until I was about 10 years old. I love the perspective. I have no idea who took this - either my grandfather, mother or father - all with considerable photographic talents. I still have that bathing suit and shoes. Does it surprise you at all that it is purple?
To Negate the Picture of Sharon Stone..

The images above are of my two favorite cats of all time when they were kittens. Pippin is the orange tabby and China is gray with specs of orange. They were brother and sister and the most loving cats I've ever had. You could tell we all loved each other from the gecko. Both unfortunately passed away within the past 5 years and despite Mischief and Lola's quarks, I don't think we've had cats as loving as these two. Happy Friday!
Ew, More Reason to Hate Sharon Stone

Boobies. Ew. Via the Superficial. Half naked on the cover of Paris Match. How classy. Definitely NOT ooh la la.
What To Do Now That Twitter Is Down
Hysterical article on TechCrunch on what to do now that Twitter is down. Suggestions range from blogging that Twitter is down to discussing the outage on Facebook. Personally, I'm doing deep breathing exercises and desperately trying to focus on my work at hand. Interesting to see how habits change from a situtation like this. Facebook has been acting funky lately too. Is it because everyone is using Facebook now that Twitter is down?
This is messed up. Latest news via TechCrunch is that it's a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. i.e. someone hacked their system and is messing with it. Jeeze.. think about the little people hackers! What would we be without our Tweets.
